Sereno camp: Gadon filed criminal complaint vs CJ in “wrong office”

Filing shows his “ignorance of law, processes,” a Sereno spokesperson says

(Eagle News)–Lawyer Larry Gadon’s filing of a graft complaint against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno in the “wrong office” only shows his “ignorance of the law and the processes,” her camp said on Saturday.

“This is yet another desperate and laughable attempt by Atty. Gadon to push his sinister plot to remove the Chief Justice from office, fully aware that his impeachment complaint has no basis at all,” lawyer Josa Deinla, one of Sereno’s spokespersons, said in a brief statement.

According to Deinla, Gadon’s move was “just another publicity stunt to attract the attention of the public whose interest in the ongoing impeachment proceedings is waning.”

She said this was because “they know that all the allegations against the Chief Justice are mere concoctions to unjustly oust her.”

On Friday, January 26, Gadon filed a complaint for graft and for violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees against Sereno before the Department of Justice.

Gadon has also filed an impeachment complaint against her.

The House justice panel is holding hearings to determine whether there was probable cause for the impeachment complaint.
