(Eagle News)– Tropical Storm “Basyang” has slightly slowed down and is expected to make landfall over Caraga region on Tuesday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that as of 10 a.m., the center of the tropical storm was located 620 kilometers east southeast of Hinatua, Surigao del Sur.
“Basyang” is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
It is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph.
Signal No. 2 has been hoisted over Surigao del Sur, and Signal No. 1 over the southern portion of Samar, the southern portion of eastern Samar, Leyte, southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Camiguin, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao Del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Bukidnon and the northern portion of Zamboanga del Norte.
Scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains are expected over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao region and Zamboanga Peninsula in 24 hours, PAGASA said.
