The Department of Foreign Affairs said the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. has not received any report of any Filipino being killed or injured in the incident at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

In a statement, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano condoled with the kin of the victims.

“We are deeply saddened over the loss of so many young lives in this shooting incident in Parkland, Florida. Our hearts reach out to the families of those who lost their lives in this horrible tragedy,” he said.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque urged the media attending the regular Palace briefing on Thursday to observe a 5-second moment of silence for the victims.

“Violence has no place in society,” he said.

Seventeen people were killed and others injured after a  former student barged into the school and opened fire with a high-powered assault rifle.
