Palace: Quiboloy a private individual, can take care of himself

(Eagle News) — The Palace on Friday said the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, Apollo Quiboloy, is a private individual and can take care of himself.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the statement after news reports said Quiboloy had been detained in Hawaii following the discovery by authorities of $350,000 in cash and gun parts on a private plane he was on.

Quiboloy was later released, but one of his companions, Felina Salinas, was charged after she claimed to own the money.

Salinas is also a member of Quiboloy’s group, Israelito Torreon, Quiboloy’s spokesperson, said in a radio interview.

“Naku e wala naman kaming komento diyan dahil si pastor naman po ay isang pribadong indibidwal at diumano e dahil meron siyang $350,000 e kaya naman niyang depensahan ang kanyang sarili,” Roque told reporters.

He said the President, a close friend of the Davao-based group’s leader,  did not react to the news reports.

“Kasi ang alam naman niya e talagang kayang alagaan ang sarili niya ni pastor Quiboloy,” he said.
