QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Several transport groups will start using new public utility jeeps within the next three months.
According to the memorandum of agreement signed between the Department of Transportation and the transport groups, the latter promised to operate at least 3,000 modern public utility jeepneys under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program of the government.
As part of the MOA, a private supplier promised that it will deliver 20,000 modern PUJs every year, while another promised to help in the financing requirements.
