President Duterte orders NBI to locate Demafelis’ recruiters

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to locate the recruiter of deceased overseas Filipino worker Joanna Demafelis.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the President wants to locate the recruiters of Demafelis in order to ascertain whether they have criminal, civil and administrative liabilities.

“PRRD asked NBI to summon them,” Roque said.

The order came after the employers of Demafelis were arrested on Friday night.

Nader Essam Assaf and his wife are the principal suspects on the brutal death of Joanna Demafelis and are already in the custody of the Lebanese authorities.

The arrest came about as President Rodrigo Duterte visited the wake of Demafelis.
