Says for his part he only wants what is best for PHL
(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday urged Filipinos to obey the Commander-in-Chief elected by the people.
“Because in this country, we are a democracy. Ang sabi ng Constitution, ang sabi ng flag, we have the sovereignty as a people…So maski na ang napili mo son of a b*t** na Presidente, eh kung ‘yun ang pinili ng tao, wala tayong magawa,” Duterte said in a speech at the Western Mindanao Command in Zamboanga City.
For his part, he said he only wanted what was best for the country, amid the threats of terrorism and drugs.
First on his to-do list, he said, was to protect the nation, and second was to preserve the nation.
“Pag mag-atras ako dito sa droga, mag-atras ako dito sa terorismo, at mag-atras ako sa NPA, this generation—`yung generation natin, kami, kami, we would have failed to save the Republic and compromised the next, ‘yung anak ninyo pati ‘yung apo ninyo,” Duterte said.
The President won the 2016 elections by a landslide, garnering over 16 million votes more than Mar Roxas, who placed second.
