EBC holds feeding program in Culiat Elem. School as part of EBC’s 50th anniversary activities

(Eagle News) – Eagle Broadcasting Corporation successfully conducted a feeding program for schoolchildren in Culiat Elementary School in Quezon City on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

This was in line with the activities of the network, including public service programs, meant to commemorate its 50th anniversary this year, specifically this April.

The EBC feeding program for schoolchildren in Culiat Elementary School is just one of the programs this year conducted under the theme EBC Cares: Enabling a Better Community.

Sa pamamagitan ng EBC Care ay nagkaloob tayo ng mga pagkain at iba pang pangangailanan ng mga mag-aaral dito sa Culiat Elementary School. (With EBC Care, we helped provide food items and other needs of the schoolchildren here in Culiat Elementary School),” said EBC President Rowena dela Fuente-Deimoy.

This is part of our preparation to commemorate the 50th anniversary of EBC in April this year.  So EBC felt it would be good to celebrate the anniversary together with the people who need help) ,” she added.

EBC has as its various portals NET 25 (television), Radyo Agila (AM radio), Pinas FM (FM radio), eaglenews.ph (news website) and EBC Films.

Culiat Elementary School has more than 2,200 elementary pupils, about 700 of whom are considered undernourished.

EBC personalities, including program anchors and DJs, also entertained the schoolchildren through a program that encouraged the students to join in the singing and other performances.

School officials thanked EBC and the sponsors of the feeding program for conducting the project in their school.

Among the other organizations and sponsors which participated in the program are Cheers Foundation, Villar Foundation, A.M.Yu and associates, Sagip partylist, NET 25 program Diskusyon, Jimm’s Coffee, Tempra, Globe telecom, and Unionbank.

On February 24, EBC also held a public service program, “Paglilingkod sa Bayan, Serbisyo para sa Mamamayan,” where it opened its doors to government service agencies like Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), PAG-IBIG and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), so more of the public can avail of these services offered by these government agencies.

Hundreds of people trooped to the EBC’s main office at no. 25 Central Avenue, Diliman Quezon City so they could avail of the various public services offered by these government agencies through their representatives who set up a satellite desk at the EBC lobby.

The Legal Aid Clinic of the New Era University – College of Law also participated by offering free legal service to those in need.

That same day, EBC also conducted a citronella planting and clean-up drive in Pasong Elementary School in Quezon City.

EBC’s clean-up drive and citronella planting hopes to help the community to combat the dengue problem in the school.

The benefits of the citronella were also explained to the teachers and students, including its impact in the environment and disease prevention.

These public service activities are part of the programs for the EBC’s 50th anniversary this year.
