Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has directed all Justice undersecretaries and assistant secretaries, except career officials, to tender their courtesy resignation.

In a memorandum dated April 24, Guevarra ordered those concerned to submit their resignation letters to President Rodrigo Duterte through him not later than April 30.

Among the assistant secretaries and undersecretaries appointed by then-Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre are Erickson Balmes, Reynante Orceo, Raymund Mecate, Antonio Kho and Deo Marco.

“Until any action is taken by the President  on such courtesy resignations, all undersecretaries and assistant secretaries shall continue to report for work  and perform their usual duties and responsibilities subject to any modification the undersigned may deem proper to adopt in the meantime,” Guevarra said.

Copies of Guevarra’s memo were furnished to the Office of the Executive Secretary and the Office of the Special Assistant to the President.
