(Eagle News)–Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. on Tuesday, May 8, could not confirm a media report that said that President Rodrigo Duterte has asked Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo to resign from her post.
In an interview over GMA’s Unang Balita, Roque confirmed, however, that Duterte and Teo had a “serious” one-on-one talk after the Cabinet meeting on Monday, May 7.
“Pero medyo matagal po ang kanilang usapan at ako po’y umuwi na,” Roque said.
The talk came after the Commission on Audit red-flagged the Department of Tourism’s P60-million placement of tourism advertisements in Teo’s brothers’ PTV4 program, “Kilos Pronto.”
Teo has denied any wrongdoing, adding that the contract was scrutinized by the DOT’s legal department.
