Former Senate President Edgardo Angara passes away

 

(Eagle News)—Former Senate President Edgardo Angara passed away on Sunday, May 13.

He was 83 years old.

According to his son, Senator Sonny Angara, his father died  of an “apparent heart attack.”

“We are still arranging funeral arrangements for my father, but will keep everyone posted too,” he said.

The older Angara served as Senate President from 1993 to 1995, during the administration of then-President Fidel Ramos.

Under the Duterte administration, he was appointed special envoy to the European Union.
