Seven killed, two hurt in raid in alleged drug suspects’ “lair” in North Cotabato

(Eagle News)–Seven people were killed and two others were hurt after police and military personnel swooped down in a “lair” of drug suspects in  North Cotabato on Friday, May 26.

In a statement, Supt. Bernard Tayong, spokesperson for the North Cotabato Police Office, said among those killed were drug suspects Dadting Kasan and Intan Aban, whose hideout in Sitio Biao, Barangay Kilada, Matalam was the subject of the police’s and military’s search warrant.

Two of their alleged cohorts were also injured in the incident at 11:15 p.m.

“During the implementation of the search warrant, subjects of search warrants fought and engaged law enforcers using high-powered firearms,” Tayong said.

Authorities recovered grenades, a .50 caliber barret sniper rifle, among others.
