Duterte fires PhilHealth chief Dela Serna amid allegations of excessive travels vs her

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte removed  Celestina Ma. Jude Dela Serna as interim chief of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Chief following accusations of excessive travels against her.

PhilHealth Board Member Roy Ferrer was named acting chief of the agency by the President, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said in a letter. dated June 1.

De la Serna incurred at least P627,000 worth of trips to and from Bohol and hotel stays even after only a year in office.

Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr has  filed House Resolution 1928 urging the committee on good government and public accountability to look into the “gross financial and operational management, corruption, as well as the proliferation of fraud through the creation of ghost members in PhilHealth.”
