(Eagle News) –The Palace on Monday, July 2, shrugged off the pronouncement of Jose Maria Sison, founding chairman of the Communist Party of the Philippines, that the ouster of President Rodrigo Duterte was “highly probable.”
Roque also lashed out at Sison, who he said was a “braggart.”
Sison said the National Democratic Front of the Philippines can no longer pursue peace talks with the administration of President Duterte, citing what he said was the chief executive’s lack of sincerity in pursuing peace, and his alleged failure to free key officers of the CPP as he promised, among others.
He said it would be better for the NDFP to join ouster moves against Duterte.
Sison made the statements after the government suspended peace talks with the Communist rebels, citing the need to conduct a public consultation first.
