(Eagle News) — The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday, July 11, called out President Rodrigo Duterte for his comment she was not ready to lead the country because of her alleged incompetence.
“Inflation: 5.2%. Bigas: P42/kilo. $1 = P53.51. Dagdag sa pambansang utang: P1.19T. Sariling karagatan: bawal sa Pinoy. Trapik: palala pa. Patayan, tila araw araw na lang. Incompetent? Nagsalita ang magaling,” Barry Gutierrez, Robredo’s lawyer, said in a tweet.
President Duterte made the statement on Tuesday, July 10, when asked to comment on Robredo’s statement she was willing to lead the opposition against him and his administration.
Robredo said this was provided that certain concerns which include the opposition’s slate for the 2019 elections were threshed out.
The vice president said the slate should have been out by September.
“Look, I will not resign because it will make her president. My resignation is addressed to the people para makapili sila ng gusto nila. Siya (Robredo), I don’t think she can ever be ready to govern a country. Reason? Incompetence,” Duterte had said.
