May develop into tropical storm in 24 hours
(Eagle News)– The low pressure area spotted east of northern Cagayan has intensified into a tropical depression and is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing rains in several parts of the country.
In its latest bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Inday” is located 660 kilometers east southeast of Basco, Batanes as of 10 a.m., packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 65 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said “Inday” may intensify into a tropical storm in the next 24 hours.
Intermittent moderate to heavy monsoon rains are expected over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan.
Scattered light to moderate and at times heavy rains are also expected over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and the rest of Central Luzon until Friday, July 20.
“Inday” is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Respomsibility on Saturday morning.
