Monsoon rains prevail in parts of PHL as “Inday,” now a tropical storm, enhances southwest monsoon

(Eagle News)—-Monsoon rains  continue to prevail in several parts of the country as “Inday,” now a tropical storm, enhances the southwest monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Thursday, July 19.

In its 7 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said monsoon rains  continue to be experienced over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Mt. province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, with the center of “Inday” spotted 840 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes as of 3 a.m.

“Inday”—which is almost stationary– is packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kilometers per hour.

Occasional rains are expected over Aurora,Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino  and the rest of Cagayan.

PAGASA said strong to gale winds will also prevail in Isabela and Aurora, and its coastal waters will be rought to very rough.
