(Eagle News)–Tropical Storm “Karding” continues to move in a northward direction as it prepares to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday, Aug. 11.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that meanwhile, as of 10 p.m., the tropical depression spotted outside PAR was 1065 kilometers west of extreme northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 75 kilometers per hour.

Both the tropical storm and the tropical depression will enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains over Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and the western section of Central Luzon starting Saturday.

The southwest monsoon  will also bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Metro Manila, Mindoro, Calabarzon, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

Sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of Luzon, PAGASA said.
