(Eagle News)—-The Philippines might procure weapons from Israel and Jordan.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the remark following President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit to the two countries, the first by any Philippine leader.
“(The Department of National Defense) and (the Department of the Interior and Local Government) might (procure the weapons),” Roque said.
If the purchase pushes through, the Philippines will have snubbed America’s sales pitch for its military equipment.
Three US Cabinet members had written Duterte for this purpose, Duterte said.
