Palace: Sentiment of group calling for Trillanes’ ouster from PMA alumni org is “overall sentiment” of military

(Eagle News) — The Palace on Friday, Sept. 15, said the sentiment of a group of Philippine Military Academy alumni calling for Senator Antonio Trillanes IV to be expelled from the PMA alumni organization is also the “overall sentiment” of the military.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque was referring to the Eagle Fraternal Chapter’s call for Trillanes’ expulsion which was made public via paid advertisements in several newspapers.

In calling for Trillanes to be removed from the roster of the PMA Alumni Association Inc., the group, which is based in Mindanao, cited the senator’s alleged incitement to sedition; commission of coup d’état, and graft and corruption; disrespect and arrogant behavior toward senior officers and President Rodrigo Duterte; treasonous acts, engagement in propaganda activities, among others.

The group said Trillanes’ acts were “seriously damaging the honor and prestige” of the PMA alumni organization.

“In view of the foregoing facts and circumstances, we, the members of the PMAAAI Eagle Fraternal Chapter based in Mindanao do hereby affix our signatures to affirm and reiterate our collective stand ostracizing Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and ousting him as PMAAAI member for conduct unbecoming of a public official,” the group said.
