Harry Roque goes on leave as presidential spokesperson

(Eagle News)–Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque cancelled his regular press briefing in Malacañang on Monday, Oct. 8.

In a text message to reporters, Roque said he was going on leave starting that day.

Roque did not give a reason, but his leave came after the presidential spokesperson said he would think about whether or not he would stay in that function in government.

He said this after he was left in the dark about President Duterte’s whereabouts on Wednesday.

Roque said the President had gone on a break in Bahay Pangarap, but Duterte himself admitted he had gone to Cardinal Santos Medical Center on that day to undergo medical tests.

Roque is rumored to be running for senator, but Duterte himself urged him not to as he would not win, saying he was not liked by the military.

Duterte instead offered him another government post but Roque said he would think about it, saying the post does not exist in the first place.
