INC launches food donation drive in Vancouver as part of Worldwide Aid to Humanity event

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) launched a food donation drive in Vancouver, Canada in conjunction with the Worldwide Aid to Humanity efforts on Sunday, October 28, 2018.

The activity was done in cooperation with the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, the INC’s charitable arm.

INC members in the area donated 250 boxes of perishable items to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, which serves approximately 26,000 people every week in 13 locations across the greater Vancouver area.

This year, demand at the local food bank in Canada has increased by 22 percent, while donations, on the other hand, have decreased, according to the latest data.

“Actual food donations will help a lot of people,” said a representative of the food bank.

According to hunger statistics in Canada, over 850,000 people turn to food banks for help. More than one-third of them are children and the youth.  (with a report from EBC Canada Bureau, Eagle News Service)
