(Eagle News) — A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Thursday, Feb. 28.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 90 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 1:16 p.m.

The earthquake was of tectonic origin and had a depth of focus of 52 kilometers.

PHIVOLCS said no aftershocks were expected.
