(Eagle News) — If there is anyone former Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa would like to be debating against, it is former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas.
“It’s my honor to be debating against a former (Secretary of Interior and Local Government), former boss, former presidential candidate..Kilala siyang matalino, kilala akong barumbado, kilala siyang mayaman, taong kalsada lang ako,” Dela Rosa, now the Bureau of Corrections chief, said in an interview over CNN Philippines on Tuesday, March 5.
Dela Rosa clarified, however, that while members of his party, the PDP-Laban, were not afraid to engage the opposition Otso Diretso in a debate, there were more important things to do.
He said he would much rather accompany his party in the campaign trail to be with the people, rather than show up at Plaza Miranda.
“Hindi nga ako takot makipaglaban sa (New People’s Army), di ako takot makipaggiyera, e debate lang iyan,”Dela Rosa said.
