Maynilad agrees to “lend” 50 million liters of water per day to Manila Water Company

(Eagle News) — Maynilad has agreed to “lend” some of their water supply to fellow water concessionaire Manila Water Company to address its water supply problems which its customers are experiencing in the East Zone, particularly in some parts of Metro Manila and Rizal.

This was announced by Metropolitan Waterworks And Sewerage System (MWSS) Administrator Reynaldo Velasco.

Velasco said that the two water concessionaires of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System came up with this agreement to address the water deficiency of Manila Water.

Velasco said that Maynilad is willing to lend some 50 million liters per day to Manila Water.

This was confiled by the supply operations manager of Maynilad, Engr. Ronald Padua.

The 50 million liters of water per day can address the supply needs of some 50,000 households for 24 hours.

Padua, however, assured that even if Maynilad lends this much of water supply to Manila Water, its water supply will still be enough to address the water needs of its customers.
