Palace: Duterte to fire another gov’t official next week

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to fire another government official next week.

This is according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, who gave an interview over radio dzmm on Thursday, April 4.

“Binanggit niya rin ‘yun kagabi during the meeting with some businessmen,” Panelo said.

Panelo did not elaborate.

President Duterte has fired government officials over corruption and graft allegations.

Among those he fired were then-Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno, then-Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor chair Terry Ridon, then-Budget Undersecretary Gertrudo de Leon, among others.

Duterte won the presidency in 2016, on a platform against corruption and crime.
