(Eagle News) — The New Era University (NEU) inaugurated on Thursday, August 8, the School of Management building, the newest addition to the ever-growing university that aims to be a world class academic institution.
The inauguration of the modern five-storey building along Central Avenue in Diliman, Quezon City was led by Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo who is supporting the school’s drive towards excellence.
NEU President Dr. Nilo Rosas said that the School of Management building will house the College of Business Administration (CBA), the College of Accountancy, and the College of Computer Studies.
He said that this “long-awaited additional building” will help address the needs of NEU’s growing number of students in the three colleges which currently have the most number of college student enrollees of NEU.
Dr. Rosas said that the College of Business Administration currently has more than 4,000 enrollees, while both the College of Accountancy and the College of Computer Studies each has more than 3,000 enrollees.
The inauguration was also a historical moment for the school, he said.
Inside the new building is the Dean Antonio A.M. Aledo Library named after the first dean of the NEU College of Business Administration (CBA).
The last floor will also house the school’s “continuing professional development center” which will serve the needs of student graduates to have their review in preparation for their board examination. This will also accommodate graduates from other schools who want to attend the school’s review sessions.
Dr. Rosas thanked Brother Eduardo for his support for the development of the university and its students.
“Ang lubos po naming pasasalamat sa ating pinakamamahal na Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan (Our utmost thanks to our beloved Executive Minister) Brother Eduardo V. Manalo because all the infrastructure developments that you see around the New Era University campus are through the support, assistance and guidance of our beloved Executive Minister,” the NEU president said in an interview.
“Hindi kami nalilimutan ng ating pinakamamahal na Executive Minister. (We are not forgotten by our most beloved Executive Minister),” Dr. Rosas said.
Many NEU students and faculty members braved the wind and strong rains that Thursday morning to attend the inauguration.
They expressed excitement about the addition of another new modern building inside the NEU main campus.
“There are so many new facilities in the building that it inspires us to go to school every day,” said a student, Chiesa Marie Estudillo
Another Business Administration alumna, Jenny Castillo, noted how the new building will help more students and graduates of business administration, accountancy and computer studies.
“Napakaganda po ng naibahagi ng school dahil po sa bagong building ng school administration. Para rin po sa ikauunlad ng mga bagong estudyante at sa mga magtatapos na mga estudyante ng business administration (The school is able to give a very beautiful contribution because of this new building from our school administration. This is for the progress of new students as well as the graduating students of business administration),” Castillo said.
The NEU main campus in Quezon City currently has the following buildings: the Main college building; the Integrated School buildings (Bldg A for Elementary and Bldg B for High School); the Professional Schools Building (PSB) that houses the College of Law, the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, and the ASEAN Studies Center; the College of Communication building; and the fifth being the recently inaugurated School of Management building.
The addition of modern buildings in NEU is in line with its vision to be a “world-class Institution of learning with a unique Christian culture of excellence, discipline, and service to humanity.”
NEU currently has the following colleges: Accountancy, Agriculture, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Communication, Computer Studies, Criminology, Education, Engineering and Architecture, Medical Technology, Medicine, Midwifery, Music, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Therapy.
It has produced top-notch graduates, including students who topped various board exams.

Dr. Rosas also said that the enrollment period at NEU has been extended until August 20.
He invited more parents to enroll their children to NEU citing its culture of discipline, service to humanity, and academic excellence that centers on its philosophy,” Godliness is the foundation of knowledge.”
“So parents if you like to actually to have the wholistic development of your sons and daughters, enroll them with us because this school is a school of discipline,” he said.
“We are not only after cognitive or intellectual development of our students, but we are for the wholistic development – to develop outstanding citizens of the land who are not only good in their respective professions cognitively, but also in terms of the development of the heart, attitude, and the development of skills. More than anything, it is the development of the soul, the character, the values of our students. Spiritual development is one primordial focus of our activities – academic or non-academic,” Rosas explained.
Aside from the main campus along Central Avenue in Quezon City, NEU has four other branches, namely in General Santos City; Lipa, Batangas; San Fernando, Pampanga; and Pinugay in Rizal which houses NEU’s College of Agriculture.
