LTFRB reminds drivers, operators to display new fare matrix on Saturday

MANILA  (PNA) — No fare matrix, no fare increase, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reminded public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators on Friday.

Via Twitter, the LTFRB made the reminder to post the required fare matrix inside their vehicles a day before the P0.50 fare hike takes effect on Saturday.

The LTFRB since June 9, started distributing fare matrixes to PPUJ groups heads, and uploading them on its official website for easy access.

Starting Saturday, commuters in Metro Manila and Regions 3 (Central Luzon) and 4 (Southern Tagalog) will be paying a new minimum fare of P8.50

The P8.50 minimum fare will cover the first four kilometers with an additional P1.50 charged for every succeeding kilometer, the LTFRB noted.

Standard fare discounts and exemptions will meanwhile remain in effect such as the 20 percent discount for senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Children less than one meter in height, and half fare for those one to one and thirty meters in height will be exempted from paying the fare. (Philippine News Agency)
