(Eagle News) – Deaths due to the coronavirus worldwide had gone past 13,000 as total confirmed cases rose to more than 307,000, according to the latest statistics on the global cases collated by the Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
In its live COVID-19 dashboard, JHU’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) said that 92,372 have already recovered from the virus, and at least 72,354 from China alone.
As China (with 81,345 total cases) reported a flattening of cases, with no local cases for three days straight except for Saturday, March 22, other countries reported increasingly rising cases.
According to JHU’s virus dashboard, Italy’s COVID-19 cases hit 53,578; followed by US with 26,747, Spain with 25,496 cases; Germany with 22,364 cases; Iran with 20,610 cases; France with 14,485 cases; South Korea with 8,897 cases; Switzerland with 6,652 cases; the United Kingdom with 5,067 cases; the Netherlands with 3,640 cases; Austria with 3,021 cases; Belgium with 2,815 cases; and Norway with 2,164 cases.
The following countries has cases of more than 1,000 but less than 2,000:
-Sweden – 1,770 cases
-Denmark – 1,420 cases
-Canada – 1,328 cases
-Portugal – 1,280 cases
-Malaysia – 1,183 cases
-Australia – 1,071 cases
-Japan – 1,055 cases
– Brazil – 1,021 cases
The other countries reported less than a thousand cases.
