(Eagle News) — Interior Secretary Eduardo Año has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.
According to Año, this was based on results of the test he took on March 27.
“Today, March 31, I received the result from (Research Institute of Tropical Medicine) informing me that I am positive for COVID-19. I make this announcement to call the attention of all persons I had close contact with to go on self-quarantine and observe any symptoms, in accordance with (Department of Health) guidelines,” he said.
Año is the vice chairman of the national action plan aimed at containing the COVID-19.
Apart from Año , other government officials who tested positive for COVID-19 were Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief Felimon Santos and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia.
