Cloudy skies, rainshowers in Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani as ITCZ affects southern Mindanao

(Eagle News)–An Intertropical Convergence Zone is affecting Southern Mindanao, and will bring rainshowers in parts of that area today.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental and Sarangani will have cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms as a result.

Flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms are possible.

Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands, on the other hand, will have cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the  Northeasterly Surface Windflow.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA said this was due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

According to the weather bureau, the  northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will have strong winds and coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
