(Eagle News)–A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Cagayan on Thursday, Aug. 13.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:32 a.m., had its epicenter 73 kilometers northwest of Calayan.
It was of tectonic origin, and had a depth of 40 kilometers.
Damage to property was not expected but aftershocks were.
