3.5-magnitude quake hits Samar

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Samar early Saturday, Sept. 5.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 3:36 a.m., had its epicenter five kilometers northeast of Santa Rita.

It had a depth of 23 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
