Orange, yellow rainfall warnings hoisted over other areas
(Eagle News) — A red rainfall warning has been raised over Cebu and Palawan due to the southwest monsoon.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration in particular said the warning was hoisted over Central Cebu and Kalayaan islands.
This means these areas will have more than 30 millimeters of rains in one hour, which may continue in the next two hours.
Serious flooding is expected in low-lying areas, while landslides are expected in mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, an orange rainfall warning has been raised over Leyte, Southern Leyte, Negros Oriental, the southern portion of Negros Occidental, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro, which means they will have 15 to 30 mm of rains within one hour.
PAGASA said flooding is threatening in these low-lying areas.
Bohol and Biliran, on the other hand, are under a yellow rainfall warning, which means 7.5 to 15 mm of rains will be observed in one hour.
