(Eagle News)–A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Surigao del Norte early Thursday, Nov. 5.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 2:27 a.m.
Its epicenter was 10 kilometers southeast of Burgos.
PHIVOLCS said the earthquake had a depth of 28 kilometers, and was tectonic in origin.
Instrumental intensity II was recorded in Surigao City.
No damage to property was reported but aftershocks were expected.
