VP Robredo greets INC on 107th year, wishes Church to continue to be a spring of hope amid pandemic

 

(Eagle News) – Vice-President Leni Robredo greeted the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on its 107th anniversary, and expressed her hope that the Church would continue to be a spring of hope amid the pandemic.

In her video greeting, Robredo said that the Church’s celebration in the midst of COVID-19 restrictions do not lessen the joy and importance of the INC’s milestone anniversary.

Isang ligtas, maligaya at mapagpalang 107th anniversary. Pangalawang taon na ito ng makabagong pagdiriwang ng buong Iglesia, taliwas sa nakasanayang pisikal na pagtitipon. Kailangan nating unahin ang kaligtasan ng ating kapwa at magdiwang sa paraang makakaiwas sa pagkalat ng pandemya,” she said.

(A safe, joyful and blessed 107th anniversary. This is the second year of a new celebration of the Church [amid the pandemic], which is different from the usual physical gathering. We have to prioritize the safety of our fellowmen and celebrate in a way that would prevent the spread of the (virus at this time of the pandemic)

Gayunpaman, hindi nito nababawasan ang saya at kabuluhan ng ipinagdiriwang natin. Patuloy sana kayong maging daluyan ng pagmamahal ng Diyos; patuloy sana kayong maging bukal ng pag-asang dala Niya, lalo na sa panahong ito,” she said.

(Nevertheless, this does not diminish the joy and siginificance of our celebrations. May you continue to be an instrument of God’s love; may you be a spring of the hope that He brings, especially in these times)

The Iglesia Ni Cristo was first registered in the Philippines on July 27, 1914 by its first Executive Minister Brother Felix Y. Manalo. It has now spread in at least 158 countries and territories with its members from 147 races and nationalities worldwide.
