PNP reports 107 new COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News) — The number of new COVID-19 cases among police personnel on Tuesday, Jan. 4, jumped to 107 from the eight reported the day before.

According to the Philippine National Police, with the additional cases, the PNP COVID-19 tally is now at 42370.

Of these, 164 are active.

Recoveries are at 42081, with no additional recoveries.

The COVID-19 death toll remains at 125, with no additional deaths.

The Department of Health has warned of an “exponential” increase in COVID-19 cases, following “decreased continued adherence” to minimum public health safety protocols and the detection of three local Omicron variant cases.
