28 more hurt due to fireworks, stray bullets: DOH

(Eagle News)–More individuals were reported hurt due to fireworks and stray bullets amid  the extended New Year revelry.

With the additional 26 injuries due to fireworks and two stray bullet-related injuries registered  from 6 a.m. of January 3 to 5:59 a.m. of January 4, the total number of New Year-related cases rose to 585, according to the Department of Health.

Of the two new stray bullet victims, one was a 28-year-old male from Metro Manila.

He suffered a fracture in the second toe of his left foot.

The other one was of a 60-year-old male from the Cordillera Administrative Region.

According to the DOH, of the overall cases, Metro Manila registered 311.

Ilocos Region, meanwhile, registered 58 cases, Calabarzon 47 cases, and Central Luzon 42 cases.
