A bear-like creature, believed to be a South American coati, has been spotted in a garden in southern England.
Anna Shearer, who photographed the animal, said she at first thought it was a dog in her back garden.
But, after seeing it scampering up a tree, she realized it wasn’t, and called an animal welfare charity for advice.
The organization said the creature could be a baby bear. They tried to catch it using night vision goggles, but failed.
Several neighbors had also spotted the animal, Shearer said, but local people have been advised against touching it in case it bites.
