‘Chedeng’ brings relief to farmers

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, PIA – Thousands of farmers in Isabela are thankful for the rains brought by typhoon ‘Chedeng’ to their farmlands recently.

Edmond Guzman, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer,  said the rains brought by Chedeng’ have been a blessing to residents, especially to munggo farmers in San Mateo town since their crops are already in the vegetative stage, which needs a significant amount of water.

He said the farmers were very thankful of the rains brought by the typhoon which saved crops from wilting.

Earlier, farmers in the province were worried on the absence of rains to sustain the growth of their crops that are already at the vegetative stage. (ALM/MGE/PIA-2 Isabela)
