ILOILO CITY, PIA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is reminding the public to check the validity of their passports and renew those six months prior to expiry to avoid hassle or inconvenience in scheduled or emergency travel.
DFA Iloilo Officer-in-charge Sheila Marie D. Tu said that countries and international airlines require passports with validity of six months before the expiry date.
“It is advised that a passport holder check the validity of his/her passport before booking a flight,” she said.
Tu said that the Regional Consular Office in Iloilo can only cater to regular processing of passports which will take 30 working days.
“Those who would like to apply for express processing would need to go to DFA main office in Manila,” she said.
Applicants can check the passport requirements thru the DFA official website at www.dfa.gov.ph.(JCM/LTP/PIA-Iloilo)
