Subway System will solve Metro Manila traffic – MMDA Chair

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Francis Tolentino said that Subway System is a solution to the massive traffic experiencing in Metro Manila.

In a recent study conducted by the community-based traffic and navigation app Waze, Metro Manila has been reported to have the worst traffic on Earth.

In line with the report that Metro Manila had the worst traffic on Earth, Tolentino said that the cities included in the study have efficient Mass Transit Systems like the London Underground also known as The Tube, a public rapid transit system serving large parts of Greater London and New York City subway.

At this stage, the MMDA chair, said that the government is studying the Mega Manila Subway line that would help ease traffic along EDSA and other major highways.

Philippine roads have also been reported to be one of the worse to drive on because of the frequency and severity of traffic jams, poor road infrastructure, among other reasons.

Meanwhile, the safety index by Waze reported that the Philippines has the safest roads based on number of traffic accidents. (Eagle News International)
