PAGASA issues ‘Orange Rainfall’ over Nueva Ecija; NCR to experience light to moderate rains

MANILA, Oct. 18 (PNA) — The province Nueva Ecija is now under “orange rainfall” due to heavy rains brought by typhoon “Lando”, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its latest advisory issued at 7 a.m. Sunday.

The orange rainfall advisory, the second in its three-stage rainfall warning system, is raised in areas where rainfall is between 15 mm and 30 mm within one hour. Flooding is a definite threat in communities under the orange alert.

On the other hand, the provinces of Bulacan‬,‪ Pampanga‬ and‎ Tarlac are under “yellow rainfall” warning.

A yellow rainfall advisory is raised when the expected rainfall amount is between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and likely to continue.

Communities given this advisory are advised to be aware of the weather condition and warned that flooding may be possible in low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains affecting Metro Manila, the provinces of Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Bataan, Zambales, and portions of Batangas and Quezon will prevail which may persist within two-three hours.

“Flooding is threatening and public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council concerned are advised to monitor the weather condition and watch for the next advisory to be issued at 10 a.m. today,” PAGASA said. (PNA)
