QUEZON City, Philippines (October 23) – I know that anyone who will be placed in your soon-to-be position have one thing in common and that is responsibility. We know that you will be facing a lot of obstacles like humiliation, mockery and a lot of questioning if you are “THE ONE”. When we say “THE ONE” it’s actually like, Batman or almost half-way like Superman. We will give you our trust as well as our hopes, because as we all know, Filipinos love to trust even if the one they are trusting isn’t trust-worthy at all, nevertheless our hopes and our trust will fully be given to you, don’t worry. We just want to convey our earnest requests every now and then that may you, the next Philippine President do your very best to at least lessen the the problems specifically the poverty we are facing now in our country, we know that poverty will never be gone but we still are aiming for some difference and improvement.
For the public works and highways, we hope that you also take notice for there are plenty of problems regarding that matter. The messy traffic flow that we have here is really bringing stress and annoyance to the commuters, especially the employees and the students who face every day’s weariness and hassle in commuting. Public utility vehicles have been a part of our daily commuter routine so we will never ask you to reduce the PUV, what we just wanted to happen is to at least give or produce another route for PUVs so there will never be any troubles anymore with where PUVs and private vehicle will go through.
Aside from that, you already know how strong and how efficient internet is in relaying news and other important information, as well as with our country’s economic development. The internet has been one of the valuable media avenue nowadays. The internet is very effective in getting word around, even in political campaigns. However, for being one of the highest number of people using the internet in a country, we are experiencing too much of connection interruption due to the epic slowness of the internet connection here in our country. It is not just Philippines has the most slowest internet connection in the southeast region and is among the slowest in the world but also we have the most expensive internet in Asia. We are hoping for a faster process for everything especially with government, industry or development-related transactions here in the Philippines, just like putting up a tower for mobile and internet networks or in requesting for approval whenever there are developmental projects that are being proposed in our country.
In addition, hope you see the exorbitant fees we are paying for everything that we consume here in our country and in relation to that is the Bureau of Custom’s alleged anomalies in and outside their departments like rice smuggling, car smuggling and damaging of balikbayan boxes as well as imposing too much fees for things that we are not supposed to pay that much. Since we are already talking about fees, you are probably aware of the outrageous taxes paid by the Filipino people. As such, we cannot avoid questioning the government system here in our country. I don’t want to be that harsh with talking about my own opinion regarding our government but personally, it’s like the government is relying too much on people’s taxes. Is it just righteous that the government should be the one responsible for the Filipino’s welfare and not the other way around? To me it’s like Filipinos are paying the government too much just to receive things that do not reciprocate the full value of their sacrifices. Next President, you know how it feels when you see your countrymen striving so hard everyday just to get through life and then there comes some government officials who are just enjoying the bountiful things that came from our fellow’s sweat and blood right? So please at least do something about it.
Last but definitely not the least, another problem arising here in our country is the fair justice for all. The justice system here in our country is still questionable. We hope that whether you are financially illiterate or economically well off, you must get the justice that you deserve. As a matter of fact justice isn’t just for rich nor for poor, but what’s bothering is that justice is becoming more of a privilege than more of a right, just like our education system here that whenever you have wealth it’s either you will be saved or you will receive some special treatments.
There are plenty of issues that we are facing now in our country but we hope that you will receive a lot of courage from up above to continue guiding every Filipino in our way to good future. People may express their disappointments but it’s not your fault remember that, it’s the result of some Filipino’s failure of giving such good governance here in the Philippines. For your 6 years in position, we hope that you do your best in listening to Filipino people’s voices. We also hope that you find braveness in times of trepidation and may you be blessed with necessary characteristics so you can always defend our nation against other nations who wants to claim what’s ours.
We are requesting you to do something about these not just because we want to, but because we are seeing so much differences between our country and other improving country all over the world. May you somehow change the “third world country” reputation accompanied by our country’s name. In accordance to that, we promised to be by your side happen what may, provided that you will be a trustworthy leader that this country has long been looking for. It is more than enough that you have pure and genuine love for our country for it can be the reason for you to give all your efforts to give Filipino the things that they deserve to get. We love Philippines just as much as how we love our family so please love our country and every single thing it has and do take good care of it just as much as how you want to take care of your family.
