Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is trying to reform the system of payment of taxes.
This is in response to the report made by the World Bank stating that the inefficient system of tax payment in the Philippines negatively affects businesses.
