QC sets up convenient scheme for taxpayers

The Quezon City government has set up additional lines for city taxpayers for fast and convenient payment of dues.

Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) chief Garry Domingo said, in the past the city only implemented a single line for taxpayers. However, the scheme has resulted to long queues and inconvenience to taxpayers.

In a news release, Domingo said for this year, the city government has designated separate lines for senior citizens/single transactions; persons with disabilities/millionaire’s group; multiple transactions and for banks/cooperatives and rebilling, to minimize long queues during the processing of business applications and renewal, tax collection and payments.

The BPLO is coordinating closely with the treasurer’s office in the process.

Domingo also said that the city government has already extended the working hours of all city hall offices involved in tax assessment and payments to accommodate QC taxpayers, even on weekends.

Aside from the extended working hours, the city government treasury branches in Novaliches, La Loma, Cubao, Talipapa and Galas are also open to accept tax payments.

Domingo reminded Quezon City taxpayers to settle their dues on or before January 20 to avoid penalty. (QC PAISO/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
