Civil Service Exam: Apply Now!

CSC-official-logo-2015QUEZON City, Philippines (January 19) – This 2016, the application of Civil Service Exam for Professional and Sub-professional Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE PPT) is now available for the scheduled exam, first batch of which is on April 17 while the second batch is on October 23. For April 17, the filing has already started last November 9, 2015 and the deadline will be on February 25, 2016. However, for October 23, the start of the filing is on March 9 and will end up on September 1, 2016.

According to the Civil Service Commission, there will be at least 57 testing centers nationwide for April 17, 2016 Civil Service Exam (CSE-PPT). Also, the Commission has  pointed out that acceptance of applications will be on a first-come-first-serve basis and they have quotas for every batch of applicants. That means applications may no longer be accepted even before the deadline if the target and quota of number of examinees has already reached by the CSC Regional and Field Offices.

To be eligible in taking CSE-PPT for Professional and Sub Professional level, you must be a Filipino citizen, at least 18 years old regardless of educational attainment at the time of filing of application, of good moral character; has not been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude, or disgraceful or immoral conduct, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs; has not been dishonorably discharged from military service, or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government; and has not taken the same level of Career Service Examination, regardless of mode, within the last three months before the date of examination.

For the scope of examination, the Career Service Examinations shall cover the following subject areas: for Professional Level- the subjects that will be included are English and Filipino; vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning. And for Sub Professional Level the exam will include subjects in English and Filipino; vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, spelling, clerical operations, and numerical reasoning. As mentioned by the Civil Service Commission, the passing rate will be 80%.
