Senate will not force President Aquino to attend the Mamasapano incident re-investigation

MANILA, Philippines – Despite the statement made by Senator Juan Ponce Enrile alleging that President Noynoy Aquino did not take steps to save the 44 fallen members of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, Senate Committee on Public Order Chairman Grace Poe said that the Senate will not force President Aquino to attend the re-opening of the investigation of the Mamasapano incident. Poe added that the Senate is open for the possibility of the President sending an affidavit which can be used as a basis for the re-investigation of the said issue. Poe also asked 24 officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the PNP to attend said re-investigation in order to resolve the issue speedily.
