Despite the failure of the Congress to pass the Salary Standardization Law (SSL) before the close of its session, Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma assured government employees that they may still have a salary adjustment as the Department of Budget Management (DBM) is already finalizing its recommendation to President Benigno Aquino regarding the first tranche of the salary adjustment. Coloma added that Php 58 billion was set aside for said salary adjustment in the 2016 budget.
