MANILA, Feb. 10 (PIA) — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to conduct mock elections on 13 February 2016 in 20 cities and municipalities nationwide, in preparation for the 9 May 2016 National and Local Elections.
The objective of the mock elections is (1) to test and ensure the adequate security, accuracy, system and functional capability and integrity of the vote counting machines (VCM), transmission devices, and consolidation and canvassing system (CCS); (2) to simulate the conduct of election (deployment, voting, and consolidation) and transmission procedures; and (3) to develop public confidence and acceptance of the Automated Filing System (AES).
Over 25 thousand registered voters are expected to take part in the mock elections.
